When traveling with a cat

Travel with your cat can be quite challenging at first. Many cats do not ever leave their house so that only the experience of being removed from their home a dog can cause anxiety. Even a short trip to the veterinarian can upset your cat so much that only a few minutes after the cat will begin to vomit. Only about 1% of cats will feel totally comfortable when traveling. There are several steps you can take for the cat to perceive the trip as an experience at least tolerable if not enjoyable.

The most important thing when you prepare to travel with your cat is to place an identification plate on cat neck.Since many cats do not come out very little, many owners are not aware of the importance of such a plate. If your cat is lost, you must take steps to ensure that the dog will be returned. Many cats end up in shelters for stray animals just because their owners could not be identified.

The next step is to buy a cat transport boxes. Although it is very likely to refuse to enter in the box at first, once the car is put in motion, the cat will feel safe in their small space, it will probably relax and sleep. One thing you can do to accustom your cat to space where you travel is to put the box in the house about a week before travel. Leave the door open the box and put a few snacks inside. The cat will be curious and will come only in the box.

On the voyage, the cat should be accustomed to the space where you travel. If you are going to make a longer trip, you should take the cat in the car a few times for shorter road before propriuzisa journey. Thus, you avoid situations where the animal gets sick of moving. We can see that the cat feels bad if it is quiet, depressed and excessive drooling. If you notice any of these symptoms, you should go with the cat to a veterinarian. The latter may recommend more drugs to make the cat feel more comfortable during the trip.

Never open the door of the box when you are in a place where cats can be lost (airports, etc..). There is always danger that cat out of the box in a hurry to begin to explore the surroundings and get lost. On the other hand there are cats who froze in fear when the door opens and I see that is in an unknown place. In this situation should not stress the animal. Open the door of the box and be patient until you get one cat outside.

If possible, keep the car for cat food and water. However, be careful because cats are generally very demanding and if you feel that food tastes strange, will refuse to eat throughout the journey. Also, take a leash with you or, better, harnesses for cats. Cat can easily get a head collar harnesses are so much safer.

A serious mistake that some pet owners make is to leave your pet alone in the car. Within minutes, the temperature inside the car parked in the sun may rise over 10 degrees Celsius from the temperature outside. If you have to leave your pet in the car, leave the windows slightly down, but not without more than five minutes.Hyperthermia is a medical emergency that can be fatal and should be treated with utmost seriousness.

Finally, if you take the car and a few cat toys, it can handle time in a fun way. A good idea is to give these objects only when traveling, because the voyage to become a unique and pleasant experience for the cat.
